How I love to fly...except when I don't
Ok so here it is thanksgiving week and I'm on my way to the airport...crazy right? Well thats what I realized later in the day... Anyway we get stuck in traffic. I have NEVER EVER been stuck in traffic on the way to the airport. so anyway I'm thinking,"Oh no what if I miss the plane?"
So we finally get to the airport, and I check in and everything. Then the lady is like, "oh we gave your seat to someone else." And I'm thinking," How could you give MY seat (which was at the window) to someone else?! This flight was booked in august!!!!" I of course didn't say this, cuz it was way to early in the morning for an argument. So the ladys like, "Well we can give a window seat on the back of plane. Is that ok?" My seat was oringinally supposed to be in row 4! So I'm like ok sure whatever.
Then I walk to my departure gate. By this time it is 7:20am. My boarding time isn't untill 7:50. So I decide to go look for some water. The only place I found a bottle of water was at Starbucks. It cost me like $3! I get back to the gate, and there is an annoucement for the flight next to us and they said, no lie,"All vegas bound passengers, we have just heard an update, when we were doing our pre-flight walk around, we discoverd some (i don't remember exactly what they said...) fuel leaking out. But we think it was just over filled and we're not worried. But just in case we're having matenice check it out." I like, "oh that's conforting. I'm glad I'm not going to vegas."
So finally I board the plane. I find my seat all the way in row 19 out of 22 rows... and it's not a window seat! I'm like oh man it's gonna be a long flight! I hate not having the window seat cause I feel dis-oriented. I was pretty mad by this point! We were supposed to take off at 8:20am, to be in Florida at 10:53am. We didn't take off untill 8:55am! They never annouced why we were late, or even that we were late!
Then this little boy and his little sister cried the entire flight. and they were in the row behind me! So I decided to watch "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" on my laptop. One problem, The lady in front of me had her seat all the back. I could barely fit my laptop on the tray table thingy. Is was pretty much on my lap...not very confortable...escpecially cuz I'd been up scine 5am! (way to early for me!) But I could still hear the screaming!
A little while later the lady put her seat up. Yay! So I could my Then my laptop on the tray table. But then she slamed it back down again, makng my screen go down.(which could have broken it!) I was thinkng," If you broke my screen my dad's gonna kile you!" then the battery died. So I tried my CD player, but the headphone jack is broken. Only one side of the headphone worked. ( I know it wasn't the headphones cuz I'd just been using them on my laptop, and they worked fine!) So I gave up.
At some point they came around with drinks. But NO SNACKS! Now I've been on a lot, I mean A lot of planes. And they ALWAYS give you a drink and a snack. They never did on this flight. I was so mad!
At this time it's like 10:50am. 10 min before we were supposed to land, and we weren't decending. Then Finally an annoucement,"We will be landing in about 40 minutes. Our estimated arrival time is 11:30am local time. The reason we're behind is beacause we're fighting a very strong headwind." I'm like, "Yeah it has nothing to do with the fact that we left 30 minutes late." The little kids finally stopped screaming. Then they had to sit down and buckle up to, "Prepare for landing." Here we go again. They started screaming again! So we finally landed after we'd been on the plane foe over 3 hours. but only in the air for two and a half.
So I walk out to meet my dad's cool girl-friend(Carol). They have screens in the air-port that have all the in-coming/out-going flights on them that tell you if they're on time or not. Well Carol said that the screen said my flight was on-time, and she was wondering where we were. then the flight just dissappeared off the screen. It was crazy! Then we go to get my bag...but they didn't tell us which baggage claim carousel it was. So we had to hunt for it. We finally found it. They crammed three flights onto one thing, while they had three empty ones right beside us!
We finalley got out of the airport and made to my Dad's house. But man that was an aweful flight. Carol said when they bring me back to the airport when I go home, she's gonna tell them I got sick b/c I didn't have a window seat. Which is true...I got a migrane last night...but I don't know it had to do with that or not. I gonna tell her not to lie though, cuz that's not cool. Sorry this blog was so looooong. But I had to vent. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
